The Pipeline Design For Automatic Test Hardness Of Drill Collar

Drill collar is an important equipment for drilling. High quality of the drill collar is the base requirements and guarantee during drilling. Hardness test is very important for ensuring high quality of the drill collar. To enhance the competitiveness of our company (Shanxi Fenglei drilling Tools Co., Ltd.), it is a key issue how to improve productivity and product quality. As a important part of drill collar production, the conventional method of hardness test of the drill collar hasn’t meet the needs of modern production. A more efficient and more precise method of hardness test should be sought. The automatic pipeline for testing collar hardness developed in this thesis is a useful attempt.According the design requirements based on the related standards of our company, a set of automatic test system of drill collar hardness, operated on a pipeline, is developed. It is mainly discussed in the thesis how to design automatic detecting technology and mechanical transmission sector and PLC control system of hardness test of drill collar. The automatic measurement technology of drill collar hardness is based on the manual measurement technology. The PLC control system is a bridge between the automatic measurement technology of drill collar hardness and the mechanical transmission sector. The PLC system of the automatic production line for determining hardness of drill is focus in the thesis. The functions of system were discussed in detail, and the development process of PLC system was systematic produced, and all part of the PLC system was designed and developed in strict accordance with the development process of PLC control system.After debugging and testing run, the pipeline result shows that the production line has improved productivity and worked well with high test accuracy. Also the line can put end to human errors. The automatic pipeline for test hardness of drill collar has achieved design objectives, and full compliance with design requirements. This line has the value of promotion.
