In recent years, flexible die forming is developing rapidly. This paper proposes a newsheet metal deep drawing process, assisted with the flexible die of granules or powder. Theforming process was analyzed by the finite element simulation software and experiment,based on the analysis of deep drawing forming of sheet.Granule flexible die forming is regarded as the total deformation of the deformations,which includes the flange of rigid die forming, the wall of roll ball ironing process and thebottom of axial direction contraction.The fundamental assumption is put forward ingranules or powder flexible cavity forming. The mechanics analysis is analyzed withplastic mechanics knowledge on the fundamental assumptions. The stress and strain stateof flange is analyzed and the computational formula of forming forge is analyzed.Powder flexible die forming is analyzed by the finite element simulation software ofMARC and granules flexible die forming is analyzed by the finite element simulationsoftware of ABAQUS. The curves of stress and strain of forming parts are analyzed.Comparing the two flexible die forming with rigid die forming.The results prove that theforming limit can be improved.Cylindrical cup deep drawing test has been completed with the self–designed solidparticles medium deep drawing die set. The feasibility of flexible die forming is furthervalidated. The drawing ratio is increased from1.8to2.2. Micro-analysis indicates that thecracks are restrained by granules and powder flexible die forming,so the forming limitcan be improved.
