High speed cutting that with high efficiency and quality performance has beendeveloped as a mainstream technology in advanced manufacturing technology group atpresent. High speed milling is the most universal way of mechanical processing. The highspeed milling of the aluminum alloy is one of the most important application fields in highspeed cutting technology. High speed end milling cutter of large diameter is anindispensable tool for high-speed milling of the Super-Large surface of aluminum ingots.All parts of the high-speed rotating milling cutters are under great centrifugal forcebecause of the large diameter and great weight. The effect of the centrifugal force is morelarger than the cutting strength and the gravity of the cutting tool itself. It’s the main factoraffecting machining security and stability. In order to reduce the weight of the cutter bodyand the centrifugal force the research of this article for high speed end milling cutter bodyof large diameter are as follows:The key problems that should be payed full attention to when design the high speedend milling cutter of the large diameter was discussed by studying on the high speedcutting technology and the structure of high speed end milling cutter of the large diameter.Theoretical analysis and finite element method were used in order to consider theinternal stress of the high-speed rotating large end milling cutter precisely.And this papercontrasts the two results.Topology optimization technology in the structure design was studied. Based onvariable density method topology optimization technology is adopted to optimize thestructure of the cutter body and a new and trusty structure of cutter body is designed onthe basis of the finite element analysis.Considering the manufacturing process of the cutter body, the cutter body structurewas redesigned based on the ideal model of topology optimization. Finally, this papergives a design for the manufacturing plans of the cutter body.
