In this paper, the cutter's milling force and the centrifugal force are modeled based on the high speed cutting (HSC) theory and the elasticity and plasticity mechanics. The milling cutter's stress field is analyzed by the finite element analysis software — ANSYS. It examines the cutter's geometry structure and milling parameters, which may provide some useful reference for the structural design of the milling cutter and the reasonable choice of the cutting condition.Through investigating the stress distribution of the milling cutter and making use of ANSYS software's inner developing tools (ANSYS Parametric Design Language —APDL and User Interface Design Language—UIDL), the parametric modeling of milling force and centrifugal force is formed. By analyzing the different front angles, helix angles and cut-in angles of the milling cutter, the stress and strain distributions of cutter are obtained. Stress fields of the milling cutter with different diameter and different overhang length are also calculated. As far as milling parameters in HSC are concerned, the rotate speed, the feed rate, the cutting depth and side-cutting depth is investigated. The distribution of the centrifugal force field of the milling cutter in HSC is also analyzed, which indicates the influence of the rotate speed and eccentricities. The cutter's quality and balance grade parameter (G parameter) are both high enough, the eccentricities will increase very high.
