Coal seam strip mining method has become the effective measures to solve coal mining under ourvillage, some important buildings, or not suitable for the location of the building. It can reducemovement and deformation of the ground, and ensure the normal use of the buildings and structures onthe ground. Its disadvantage is the low recovery rate, which still makes a lot of coal resources retainingunder all types of buildings, severely restricts the sustainable development of the coal enterprises. Therefore, researching the law of surface movement and deformation of strip mining, optimizating thestrip mining design parameters, designing the reasonable dimensions of the pillars, have become animportant issue faced with by the coal science and technology personnel. On the basis of the original strip mining program in some mining area of the Linxi mine, by usingthe A.H.Wilson strength theory around the strength of coal pillar stability, optimizates the strip miningdesign parameters, and estimates the maximum of surface movement and deformation; Applicating theFLAC3Dfinite difference method to simulate for each program simulation, studys the influence of stripmining in different mining and reservation width of surface movement and deformation, obtains themaximum value for each parameter of the surface movement and deformation, and analysis the law ofstrip mining of ground movement and deformation; Collecting field data of surface observation stationsin the mining area at the same time, verifies the projected surface movement and deformation values, and ultimately obtains the better plan for the mining area.Strip mining is a special method to solve the coal mining under the buildings. Studying the law ofground movement and deformation, guiding the design of the strip mining parameters in the the premisewithout increasing the cost of production, at the same time ensuring that the buildings and structures arenot severity of destructive, maximizing the recovery rate of coal resources, and increasing the amount ofcoal resources can be directly bring economic and social benefits to the mining enterprises.
