With the rapid development of wind power,the demand of wind turbine’s gear willalso be increassing as the demand for the equipment of wind power.And the gear’sprocessing method will also be changed to accommodate the increaseing processingvolume.The foreign company like as Liebherr and Gleason-PFAUTER,according to themarket requirements,has been pioneering the development and production of thehigh-speed gear milling machine to accomondate the demand.This improvement greatlypromote the development of the gear processing industry, but also contribute to thedevelopment and production of the corresponding indexable form carbide-tippedfinishing gear milling cutter.On the basis of analyzing the theory of forming method of the gear,this paper setsup the formula of the milling cutter tooth shape by the mathematical method of spatialgeometry. Based on the basic formula of calculation and original data of the workpiece,using the matlab write the calculating program to calculate the tooth shape data.According to the data of the tooth shape, by using UG/NX software, this paperdesigns the indexable form carbide-tipped finishing gear milling cutter which used toprocess the straight teeth gear. The basic geometric parameters of the milling cutterreference the data of leitz company, combined with tooth data, establishing the basicgeometric structure of the milling cutter’s body. Use of the Boolean operations, duggingup the other structure on the model of the body, so establish the model of cutter finally.The blade design is builded according to the geometric parameters of the blank and thetooth data. Finally get the gear cutter assemble model by assembling the cutter body, theblade and the screw together. While using the Senior simulation module of UG/NXsoftware, this paper does strength analysis of blade and get the guidance of the baladedesign. In addition, using the Processing module of UG/NX software, this paper doesthe NC machining simulation which processing the blade slot, get the processing pathand the processing code, providing the guidance to the follow-up CNC.
