In recent years, large LNG-storage tanks were built in various regions of Chinaunder the foreigners’help.At the constructing of these tanks, a lot of experience in thedesign and construction experience has been accumulated, so great progress was tookin technology. Stilly, some problems appear in many aspects. In that of case,ourselves’standards and theories couldn’t be relied on, no matter in construct ordesign. So more scientific and technical workers in this research are needed.On the basis of previous studies of large LNG tank pile foundation settlementanalysis, stress analysis and pile foundation optimizing design was done.The contents of this article is as follow:1.The group pile foundation pile load-settlement ratio was determined by thetheory proposed by Randolph and Worth.The computer model of LNG tank wasestablished by Ansys,the purpose of it is settlement analysis. And the same time,model whose cap was solid joint was established. At last the internal force of the towdifferent models were compared.2. Combined with the Penzien’s model which recommended by AIJ in pile-soliddynamic analysis,The dynamic analysis model of LNG storage tank by Ansys hasbeen established.Than the stress was analyzed and the results of different seismicwaves intensity and seismic intensity were compared.3. According to the analysis previous, the pile foundation was designed byoptimization. The models which are unoptimized, optimized were compared witheach other.A most suitable precept for the progremme were got.According to these analysis, the pile foundation settlement was effected by loaddistribution, cap’s stiffness and vertical stiffness of piles; the distribution of settlementis as the shape of dish, but also changed by load. It should be paied attention to theeffect of the different settlement on the structure. It is suitable to use variable stiffnessleveling design on LNG tank, it could decrease the different settlement and concreteconsumption.
