The crankshaft is one of the important mechanical transmission components ofemulsion pump. It bears huge periodical alternating load and produces powerfulalternating torsional stress and bending stress in the work process of the high pressureand large flow emulsion pump. if it does not have the better static and dynamiccharacteristics, the crankshaft system will produces fatigue damage easily, as well asserious influence on the whole system’s performance. So the crankshaft system structureanalysis and improvement design has become the important research problems in theprocess of emulsion pump design and improvement.This paper takes the model of BRW550/31.5emulsion pump as the research objectand discusses the structure design problem of five throw crankshaft of emulsion pump.Firstly, it maked the kinematic and stress analysis of crank-link mechanism andobtained the displacement,velocity and acceleration of the trunk piston and the forcefunction on the crankshaft with the change of the crankshaft angle. By using a exampleit figured out the connecting rod force on crankshaft, as well as determined the risk ofcrankshaft research conditions. For the more practical reflect the performance ofemulsion pump,the whole machine model of this type of emulsion pump wasestablished in the three-dimensional modeling software Pro/e, the virtual prototypemodel of emulsion pump was maked kinematics and dynamics simulation with the helpof ADAMS software, this can obtain the curve about velocity and acceleration of thepiston and the connecting rod force on the crankshaft. These curves can be used toverify the kinematics and dynamics theory calculation results in the front chapter. Aimat the risk of crankshaft research conditions,we analysed and compared the stress andstrain situation of two different supporting structure of five throw crankshaft by usingthe ANSYS software,then, we calculated the fatigue strength of crankshaft and obtainedthe safety factor of the site of stress concentration. Finally, the modal analysis wasmaked for two kinds of different crankshaft supporting structure, it was used to find outand compare their vibration characteristics.These analysis results can provide theoretical basis for the improvement design of the emulsion pump crankshaft and the whole machine, moreover, provide the referencefor research on the other parts of this type of emulsion pump.
