Method Research On Processing Fine-grained Refractory Hematite In India

With the sustained rapid development of China economy, the steel industry isdeveloping fast. The demand of ore increases fast for domestic steel companies. Thedomestic mine production cannot satisfy the need. So the steel industry has to rely on theforeign high-quality ore resources. India ore resources are very rich. India is the fourthlargest ore producer and the third largest ore exporter. Full exploitation and utilization ofIndia ore resource have important practical significance to easing the pressure of Chinaore resources shortage.The research of India hematite shows that the ore grade is45.21%, the mainimpurities include SiO₂and Al₂O₃, followed by MgO and CaO, the content of S and P islow. The valuable mineral is mainly hematite, and its iron distribution rate is93.25%,followed by a small amount of magnetite.Combined with the past similar tests, tow kinds of test process are carried out,“intensity magnetic-reverse flotation” process and “gravity concentration-intensitymagnetic-reverse flotation” process. The “intensity magnetic-reverse flotation” processdeal with the ore, the concentrate productive rate52.42%grade67.01%recovery77.48%can be obtained, and the tailings grade21.46%. The “gravity concentration-intensitymagnetic-reverse flotation” process deal with the ore, the concentrate productive rate53.98%grade67.03%recovery80.03%can be obtained, and the tailings grade19.38%.Two processes obtain similar grade, but the former is better than the latter in recovery,the latter is better than the former in the concentrate yield and tailing grade. The floatingagent dosage of latter is reduced by30%than the former. Thus the “gravityconcentration-intensity magnetic-reverse flotation” process is fixed as the best process.Through economic valuation of mineral process of India hematite, if building a plantwith this hematite as raw material, economic benefit is very good.
