Operation And Improvement Analysis On The Texaco Coal Water Slurry Gasification

Coal gasification is the key technology of the development of many industriessuch as the coal-based chemicals, coal-based liquid fuels, combined cycle powergeneration, hydrogen and fuel cell production system. Especially the airflow bedgasification which is easy to get used in a wide range and get higher carbonconversion had been get large scale application in recent years. At present, Texacocoal-water slurry pressurized gasification technology and Shell dry pulverized coalgasification technology are two represents of a new generation of gas flow bedgasification. The Shell dry pulverized coal gasification technology still need to beverified by industrialization in future, however, the Texaco coal-water slurrypressurized gasification technology which has high operation stability has more than10years’ experience in China. This coal gasification technology is still one importantwidely used domestic technology.Texaco coal-water slurry pressurized gasification is oxidant and coal-waterslurry by three runner burners mixed after high speed injection flow bed reactor. It is akind of clean, effective carbon conversion coal gasification technology, because theincomplete oxidation reaction under the temperature and high pressure wouldgenerate CO, H₂, CO₂and syngas, but no tar, phenol or hydrocarbon as byproduct.The completion of the design is under the ideal condition, however, in the actualoperation process it is always not much perfect. In this paper, the influence ofoperation system of the oxygen coal ratio, coal slurry concentration, coal propertiesand other relevant factors were analyzed and the technology system of blackwaterpipeline flash Angle valve, burner and the place such as quench ring were improved.All the analysis and reasonable argument would make the production system safe in along time.
