| Friction stir welding (FSW) is a solid state welding method, which uses heatgenerated by friction of the metal with high-speed rotation of the mixing head andshoulder closures to make the metal in a plastic state, with the mixing head movesforward, the metal flows behind the mixing head to form a dense weld. FSW has beenwidely used in aluminum alloy and other various alloys manufacturing of variousindustries. Our independent research and development level of friction stir weldingequipment is not high, the vast majority equipment can only weld one-dimensionallinear or rely on imports, so it becomes an urgent need to develop a weldingtwo-dimensional curve of friction stir welding equipment.The paper concisely describes the technical requirements, the technical parametersof the subject and the mechanical structure of the FSW machine firstly. Based on theabove contents, the paper focuses on the hardware design, the software design and theposition accuracy analysis of the electronic control system of FSW.Firstly, FSW machine’s hardware design, the hardware design decides to adopt thenew Siemens motion control system SIMOTION D after compared various proposals.The hardware design mainly includes hardware selection, hardware configuration andthe hardware circuit design.Secondly, FSW machine’s software design, this chapter analysis the functioncompleted by system firstly, Based on the analysis, it plans and designs the HMIprogram and control program by using modular design method respectively.Thirdly, FSW machine’s position accuracy analysis, this chapter analysis theoryposition accuracy and drive system accuracy of the system firstly. Combined with thecompensation function of Scout software, it is to discuss to improve position accuracyof the machine tool from the perspective of control system. The ideal measurementresults are obtained.Finally, the FSW machine of the design is in production debugging, we achievegood results, and it also validates the correctness of the design and development. |
