As an irreplaceable kind of energy, petroleum is widely used throughout the world.Petroleum industry is also vigorously developing with it. Electrical Submersible-motor-driven Progressive Cavity Pumping Technology-ESPCP, as a kind of emerging petroleumexploitation equipment, has occupied certain market share in petroleum exploitationindustry. EPSCP is gaining the favor of exploitation companies in high viscosity, highsediment concentration, and high gas content petroleum exploitation because of itssimplicity, high efficiency as no-rod petroleum exploitation equipment.With industry development, a higher requirement has been requested for petroleumproduction volume and many more tests are coming, too. Consequently, depth capacityneeds to be enhanced and medium temperature needs to be increased gradually. Eventhough EPSCP has incomparable advantages, overall performance of traditional EPSCP isfacing a great challenge. EPSCP is hard to high efficiently complete tasks underincreasingly severe conditions. In this way, traditional EPSCP system needs to beimproved. More thorough production equipment shall be designed to meet therequirements to screw pump under current production conditions.Based on this idea, this paper is to analyze function and performance requirements ofEPSCP. At the same time, it discusses in detail the low load capacity in axial forcedirection of EPSCP, and short ESPCP lifetime caused by the short bearing lifetime. It alsouses some actual examples to calculate axial force of EPSCP system and checks thecalculation of bearing lifetime. Innovative structure(ESPCP Unit with Two PumpsConnected by the Same Coupling and Driven by the Same Motor)of EPSCP is designedbased on this. Double-in-single-out structure is formed using two screw pumps in parallel,and correct rotating and arranging method is used to obviously improve axial loadcondition of ESPCP system. At the same time, production volume of EPSCP is improved.By checking the calculation of innovative structure, it is proved that a good result has been achieved in enhancing the lifetime of extended screw pump.At last, the paper studies the mechanical drive and control system, explains flexibleshaft movement form transformation and application of zero-tooth-difference innermeshing in EPSCP coupling, and describes the working principal of zero-tooth-differenceinner meshing. Mathematical models are given for meshing efficiency and drivingefficiency which provides the calculation basis for theoretical study of zero-tooth-difference inner meshing driving system. In the end of the paper it explains soft startingand Shutdown suddenly Reverse Technology.
