High-intensity mining link chain is a main towing component in scraper conveyers and coal shearers. The dynamic character of the link chain plays a very important part in the reliable operation of the conveyer system. But it is the heat treatment that can reflect the characteristics of the process clearly. So it is very necessary to simulate the process of the induction heating to link chain. The induction heating is widely used in industrial operations due to its high efficiency, low pollution properties, precise control and good security. However, the design of an induction heating system based on experiments can be tedious, time-consuming and expensive. The numerical simulation of the induction heating is of great value because it requires much higher technique and precision. In this thesis, mathematical model is offered for solving laminar workpiece in electromagnetic induction heating process on the basis of the characteristics of induction heating. To improve the efficiency of eddy field calculation with magnetic vector potential, necessary simplification of the process is applied. And the mathematical model of electromagnetic field and temperature field are established and The finite dement model of3-D and non-liner coupling field is applied. The analysis of the sequential coupling of electromagnetic and thermal field is carried out using ’physics environment’ of ANSYS software. Get the relationship between temperature of induction heating and current density, current frequency and the distance of link chain to coil through the simulation. Finally simulated the process and result of induction heating under the actual conditions and contrasted with experimental value and proved the validity of the model and method.
