In modern process industry, Safety Instrumented System(SIS) is a kind of secure system which is used to improve reliability and reduce system risks in chemical production system. Safety Instrumented System is widely used in developed countries,but in our country, functional safety standard has introduced recently. We expand the research of function safety theory preliminarily. The action of Safety Instrumented System can impact the factory’s greenhouse gas emissions. With the concept of green-economic putting forward, chemical factories pay more and more attentions on energy-saving. But there is no method of calculation about the greenhouse gas which plants discharging after Safety Instrumented System acting.Firstly, this thesis makes a classification of Safety Instrumented System in detail, bases on the function of Safety Instrumented System; secondly, according to different plants makes a detailed classification and summarizes the instruments, valves and voting formulas. After making the classification of general Safety Instrumented System, the thesis analyses the using situations of Safety Instrumented System in hydrogenation unit. After the action of Safety Instrumented System, the plant will discharge greenhouse gases to. The article sums up several kind of calculation methods and gives a summary formula. The greenhouse gases, after Safety Instrumented System acting blows down, can be detected by the chromatograph. In the experiment, a SCD-chromatograph,7890A was employed to confirm appearance time of some kinds of greenhouse gases. Finally, some suggestions were put forward for the development of Safety Instrumented System. The classification of Safety Instrumented System can make a reference for the designs which have similar structures.
