Electric submersible pump is a commonly used oil extraction equipment. Due to itsadvantage, it has been widely used at home and abroad. Through document retrieve, ithas been observed that only America Radar Company and Century Company have theoptimizing selecting procedures similar to the operation of electric submersible pump,and are still in the phase of researching. Besides, electric submersible pump is sorelyneeded by the development of oil industry and application of oil field extraction inChina. This research is aimed to find out how to increase the rate of oil field extractionand ultimately enhance oil recovery.It’s an important step to collect the data of pump selection. The project developedthrough complete analysis is significant for the model design of electric pump unit.Firstly, according to the gas content of oil well and the thickness of well liquid, it hasbeen decided whether to do relevant calculation, and oil production is defined on suchbasis. Secondly, the calculation of total dynamic head (TDH) is conducted. Thirdly, thepump type and impeller series progression are set, that is, on the basis of oil productionand TDH, the pump type and impeller series progression are selected.(If the numericalvalue of thickness of oil is larger, the efficiency of pump output and lift should becorrected.) Fourthly, the electric machine and protector are picked, the pump motor iscalculated, and its type, rated voltage and electric current are set. At the same time, theproper type of protector based on the electric machine type and outside diameter is fixed.Fifthly, the pump load and pump shell pressure are inspected. Sixthly, electrical cables,switch board and transformer are chosen with the computation of the starting capacityof electric machine. Thesis has genuinely combined the theory achievements,developing a complete and feasible calculation model, constructing many moredatabases of large scale, transferring a large amount of experimental diagrams intocomputer digitized data and describing complex data curve by computer. Throughcomputer technology, thesis has probed a set of intact and mature model and relatedmethod of selecting pumps, absorbing the advantage of artificial analogy and empiricalmethod, and changing estimation into accurate model calculation. On the basis of the past experience of pump selection, thesis has integrated manydisciplines into one whole, working out a reliable form of electric submersible pumpunit in an exact and efficient way, further promoting the artificial experience for pumpselection to enhance the reliability and economical efficiency. In addition, thesis hasconsulted many materials of oil geology, drilling and oil exploitation, developing a setof optimizing pump selection procedures, fully considering well conditions, andsummarizing the influential factors of pump selection to solve the problems faced atpresent, thus, to achieve better application result.The optimizing system software has taken database expansion and application tospecial cases, as well as fault tolerance into consideration, which can be applied byvarious well conditions and users. Such software provides sound theory and practice forproduction, thoroughly deals with the inaccuracy of artificial pump selection andsimplifies its tedious procedures.
