With the development of social and improvement of people’s living standards, the antibacterial materials research has aroused people’s attention. Inorganic antibacterial agent is widely added to the preparation of antibacterial composite material in a variety of substrate material because of its good santibacterial spectrum, antibacterial effect, no produce resistance, no secondary pollution, simple preparation process, etc. Carbon microspheres(CMSS) will have a wide range of applications once it was discovered due to its excellent physical and chemical properties. The paper used glucose as carbon source first, then prepared CMSs by hydrothermal method, and studied on the effects of reaction temperature, holding time and glucose concentration on the morphology, structure, yield of CMSs sample. Containing silver the CMSs (Ag/CMSs) antimicrobial agents were prepared by restoring the adsorption which using CMSs as carrier and the AgNO3solution as reaction solution, and we discussed the effect of the concentration of AgNO3solution, the pH value of the reaction solution, reaction time and temperature on its containing silver amount, and tested antibacterial performance of the prepared Ag/CMSs samples. Finally, the Ag/CMSs antibacterial agent was surface-modified using silane coupling agent KH-560, and added it to prepare antibacterial PET masterbatch, then tested and characterized the dispersion and its substrate compatibility of the Ag/CMSSs antibacterial agent before and after modified in the PET matrix, as well as thermal properties, mechanical properties, antibacterial performance.Through the above study, we draw some conclusions as follows:(1)The surface of CMSs with rich oxygen-containing groups was prepared by hydrothermal method which used the glucose as carbon source. The optimum preparing conditions of CMSs were as follows:reaction temperature of300℃, reaction time of8h, the concentration of glucose solution of0.45mol/L(2)Ag/CMSS antibacterial agent was successfully prepared by reduction and adsorption method which using AgNO3solution as reaction solution, the optimum preparing conditions:AgNO3solution concentration of0.05mol/L, pH value of7, and the reaction time was5.5h, the reaction with AgNO3solution temperature of65℃; silver were adsorbed onto the the CMSs surface in the form of Ag and Ag2O and silver content of12.72%. Ag/CMSs antibacterial agent had a good antibacterial effect on Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli.(3)Ag/CMSs antibacterial agent was modified using silane coupling agent KH-560, the silane coupling agent KH-560was successfully grafted to the surface of Ag/CMSs antibacterial agent with little effect on its antibacterial properties, and with improvement of dispersion and compatibility in the PET matrix, thus improved the mechanical properties of the antibacterial PET masterbatch. The modified Ag/CMSs antibacterial agent in the PET crystallization processes played a role of heterogeneous nucleation, so that the crystallization temperature came to high temperature offset.(4)Antibacterial experimental results showed that:the pure PET had no antimicrobial performance, but Ag/CMSs antibacterial PET masterbatch had good antibacterial properties against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli.(5) Ag/CMSs antibacterial PET masterbatch maximum oxygen index value of35.8%was far higher than that of pure PET limiting oxygen index value of21%, indicating that the antibacterial PET masterbatch had good flame retardant properties.
