Scraper conveyer as the mine’s main transport equipment, the head and tail’s component element of chain wheel are its transmission parts, the importance of them is rather obvious. Because the bad condition of the production of colliery, the malfunction of the component element of chain wheel is of common occurrence, it brings the huge influence on miner’s life security and the coal mine’s economic interest. The paper aims to find the disadvantages of design process and the weakness of manufacture process through the important components of analysis the lose efficacy and forecasting the lifetime to provide theoretical support for manufacturing and exchanging.The paper analysis the scraper conveyer component element of chain wheel in two aspects. On the one hand:Analysis the important components which losing efficacy. Firstly, building the3-D modeling of the component element chain wheel by the software UG; Secondly, simulating the statics of chain wheel、axis of the chain wheel、floating seal on the software ANSYS (the difficulty point is the problem of analysis noliner contacting between O-Rings and floating seal ring) to find the fault of the designing; The last, making metallographic examination on fracture surface of the chain wheel axis, discovering the weakness through the means of chemical experiment、 mechanical experiment、macroscopefractography、microscopy metallographic examination、low-power microscope equipment、Decarburization layer detection.On the other hand:making fatigue life prediction by FE-SAFE on the key parts of the component element of chain. Proving the result of fatigue life simulation of chain wheel、axis of the chain wheel and so on are similar to the life in real producting. The virtual simulation is high-efficiency and economic, at same time, it provides the theoretical support for coal mine.The paper is aimed at providing a way to mutual monitoring among the three parts of manufacturing、design、using. Failure analysis provides theoretical support for the accident in the coal mine; Fatigue life prediction can provide a safety producting time for the administrative department to schedule the work time.
