Shaft parts with profiled hole are widly used in the modern machinery industry.There is a little research on the profiled hole in our country. There are usually three ways to process and form the profiled hole.The first is shaping molding method, such as casting, forging, stamping, etc.; The second is machining method, such as boring, vehicles, etc.; The last is special molding method, such as wire cutting, electric spark, laser machining, etc.The object of this paper is the transmission shaft with a square hole on the shaft-end.The original production process need to pre-drill holes at first and then blank square hole four times. In order to complete a part’s processing of blank square hole, we need continuous replace the punchs four times, and knock down the compression sleeve one time. This processing not only has low efficiency, but also has low dimensional accuracy, more importantly, of the material utilization is only69.2%. Therefore, I hope use cold extrusion forming technology to process the drive shaft. I worked out the forming process through analyze the characteristics of the drive shaft, and in accordance with the best process scheme to design the cold extrusion figure and mold figure of the drive shaft. Established three-dimensional plastic finite element model of the cold extrusion forming of the transmission shaft with a square hole on the shaft-end, simulated and analyzed its forming process on the basis of DEFORM-3D. Compared and analyzed the impact of various parameters by modifying the individual parameters. and square punch wear, Determined the best extrusion speed and mold parameters by observing the blank’s whole current trends and square punch’s wear. According to the final mold darwing to make molds and process experiments to prove the authenticity and feasibility of the process.The content is divided into five chapters:Chapter1introductes the overview of cold extrusion,and makes clear the task of the subject;Chapter2analyzes the cold extrusion process systematically to determine the issue of this process scheme;Chapter3designs a mold adapt to the process plan;Chapter4is numerical simulation analysis, and optimizes the mold structure and process parameters of this process scheme;Chapter5proves the technology results which were optimized by experimental verification, analyzes the experimental results.
