Due to the rapid development of China’s petrochemical industry, especially the wideapplication of liquefied petroleum gas and liquefied natural gas, the spherical tank as acommon storage devices, the number increased dramatically. Spherical costumesmedium is usually flammable, explosive, corrosive or toxic characteristics, so it is aspecial safety equipment, with a high degree of risk. The event of failure will result indeath or serious property damage. Therefore, the spherical tank, especially for largespherical tank risk assessment studies for the effective prevention and control of majoraccidents, as well as in guiding the implementation of the spherical tank inspection, toensure the safe operation of the spherical tank, has a good theoretical significance andapplication value.This article is to analyze the statistics of spherical defects and defect causes,combined with the design, manufacturing, installation, testing and other specifications,summed up the spherical tank failure of various factors and the establishment of anorderly hierarchy. Constructing a spherical tank failure fault tree.
