In this dissertation, we synthesized two binuclear Mn(Ⅱ) complexes:(?)[Mn2L1Br2] and(?)[Mn2L2Br2] and characterized by infrared, elementalanalysis, electrospray mass spectrometry and X-ray crystal structuralanalysis. The description of main work was followed:1. In this work, four macrocyclic ligands and two dinuclear manganese(Ⅱ)complex(?),(?) were synthesized and characterized by physical methods indetail. In complex(?), the macrocyclic ligand serves as the N2O2donor toeach maganese ion. Each maganese ion, with square pyramidalcoordination geometry binds two oxygen atoms from phenol, two nitrogenatoms from propyldiamine and one bromine atom.2. The two complexes display activities of catalytic decomposition of H2O2.3. The SOD-like activity of the complex(?),(?) were also studied byillumination of NBT, the relative activity of the complex(?) was(?)5.71, whilethe complex(?) was9.13.4.The results of gel electrophoretic separations of plasmid pBR322DNAinduced by the complex(?),(?) were shown that the complexs can catalyze thepBR322DNA cleavage into nicked DNA, which revealed good activitybinding with DNA. The binding constants of complex(?),(?) wereK1=2.5×105L/mol, K2=3.2×105L/mol, respectively. It is spectulated thatcomplex(?),(?) were binded to CT-DNA in a intercalative mode.
