The converter steelmaking slag is the solid by-products in the process of theconverter steelmaking.Because the steelmaking slag contains some free calciumoxide(f-CaO) whose mass fracion is5%~10%.When f-CaO and water produce achemical reaction of hydrolysis,then the steelmaking slag could expand andpurverise.And the volume of steelmaking would be increased in size1~2times.So itcould be bound application in mang field.This text discusses about thesource,character,processing method and digestion method of the f-CaO.And this textdiscuss about the new digestion method of the f-CaO.This text carries on the analysisof the new digestion method through experiment and numerical simulation.The experiment part is composed of two parts. Experiment one: Digestionexperiment of the f-CaO. In the process of the experiment, it adopts experimentfacility of rotary moving bed. Based on f-CaO and CO2produce the reaction ofcarbonic acid, then it can forms calcium carbonate. So that it can make mass fractionof f-CaO drop under3%. After the slag meet the standard requirement of concretework, pavement work and building material products. Through changing the reactioncondition, it can make sure the best material structure, the best reaction temperatureand mass fraction of water vapor is how to affect the digestion condition.Experimenttwo: Measuring the porosity of the seven kinds of material structure. Through theformula, it can calculate the porosity of the seven kinds of material structure. Theporosity would be used to the back of the numerical simulation.The numerical simulation part: Establishing a physical model of rotating movingbed.Use to the Eular model as the foundation, establishing a numerical model ofcoupling among gas-solid two-phase, chemical reaction.In order to ahieve thecoupling among flow, mass transfer, heat transfer and chemical reaction, the moder ofgas-solid two-phase flow and reaction through the UDF function be estiablished.Under different material structure and different reaction temperature we can find outthe rule of solid particle flow and the changes of the f-CaO’s mass fraction on theforming process.At last, through changing boundary conditions, it can obtain thedifferent simulation results.
