The apply of Johnson Screen is very extensive, and which has been a key part of thepetrochemical industry in research. The main market of Johnson Screen are based onimported products, so the cost is very high. With the development of economic, there is anurgent need to diversify production of Johnson Screen localization. But the localized JohnsonScreen welding machine product quality is not meet the requirement.The paper introduced the design and research of an automatic Johnson Screen CNCwelding machine based on PLC control and resistance welding.First, this article introduced the characteristics of Johnson Screen’s constituent in detail.According to the characteristics of the process, compared to the lathe machining principle, theessay put forward the preliminary design of the thesis, the ribs and wire can be formed byspiral weld.Second, we divided the welding equipment into three parts based on its function,including welding parts、tailstock parts、and head frame parts. In accordance with the featuresof the various parts, we discussed the selection of servo-motor and the checking calculation ofmain parameters.In the last, the main components of the mechanical structure design and control systemdesign was been proposed, realized the develop of automatic Johnson Screen weldingmachine. After the actual welding inspection, we found that welding quality is meeting thedesign requirements, welding error is limit within0.05mm.
