In recent years, with carrying out the formulation of “Eleventh Five-Year Plan”by the Central Committee of Chinese Communist Party,economic development andthe progress of urbanization are faster, a lot of “city disease” is appearing, that is, theurban ecological system is becoming unhealthy,such as population explosion,resource decreasing,ecological imbalance,environmental pollution,etc.These problemswill hinder and restrict the development of the urban ecological system, and thenaffect the survival of human.Especially,the rate of Chinese urbanization increasesfrom42.9%in2005to49.68%in2010,as the urbanization level is improving, the“city disease” is becoming more and more serious, urban ecological system hasappeared unhealth symptoms, this trend will threaten the virtuous cycle anddevelopment of ecological system, the urban sustainable development will face asevere test.Gansu province relies on “the Grand western development strategy” andpreferential policies for remote and poor districts, has made great progress ineconomic and urban development, especially five cities in Hexi region, With theirown advantages and national support, all the work develop better.However, for a poorprovince, with the development of society and economy, they must have a negativeeffect on urban ecological environment, which will pressure the city’s ecologicalenvironment,impact the people’s living standard and restrict the sustainabledevelopment of economy and society and so on.As urbanization is accelerating,thehealth status of the city is becoming worse,some cities have shown disease state,andsome cities even have been illed terminallly.Facing the serious ecologicalproblems,the State council has issued relevant laws and regulations,and put forward toadhere to the coordinated development of pollution prevention, ecological protectionand the economy;and vigorously pushed forward the construction of the ecologicalprovince, ecological city and ecological county[1]; With the influence of ecologicalenvironment in the healthy development of the city is more and more important,building livable city is also advocated throughout the country, that is to say,whichputs forward new requirements for the construction of urban ecological health for fivecities in the Hexi.This paper takes five cities of hexi region as an example,using theUrbanology, Ecology, Health sciences and System analysis and so on, chooses vitality, organizing force, restoring force, ecosystem service function and the crowd health asevaluative factors, constructs the indicators system of urban ecosystem healthassessment,and sets up the applicable health assessment standards of urban ecosystemfor five cities,which combines with the national regulations of healthy city and theactual situation of the cities and so on;adopts the objective weighting method-entropyvalue method to calculates the weights of indexes; Using the fuzzy mathematicsmethod to assess the level of urban ecosystem from the point of view of the verticaland horizontal, analysising the health conditions of the urban ecosystem of five citiesin hexi region from2005to2010, and at the same time, comparing urban ecosystemhealth conditions among five cities in2010.The result of the study shows that, the urban ecosystem health conditions of fivecities have had apparent change in Hexi region from2005to2010, according to thehealth status’s change of every city in different time,we can conclude:urbanecosystem health level declined year by year in Wuwei, urban ecosystem of Jinchangis sick,the rest of cities turn for the better;besides, the health status’s changes ofvarious cities are gradually getting better at a given time from east to west. By theevaluation results,we can find out the stressors of restricting the healthy developmentof five cities in Hexi, it mainly includes the organization structure, restoring force andpopulation health, and we can put forward the corresponding countermeasures toimprove urban ecological system by the evaluation results,we hope that it can providethe scientific basis for the healthy development of the urban ecological system, offerguidance for the scientific development and management of urban ecological system.
