Heavy plate is an important production in metallurgy industry. The breed of heavy plate is various. The performance of heavy plate is different. The quality requirement for heavy plate is very high. Heavy plates are used in many fields, including economy and national defence building. So every country in the world regards the breed and quality of heavy plate as a standard of the steel industry level.In order to change and optimize production configuration, and reality the maximum benefit, Baosteel company builds a new heavy plate rolling mill which can produce five meters width plates. Today the market competition of heavy plate is very serious, and the customer requirement improves constantly. If the producing scale and benefit of heavy plate need to be changed better, an important method is to improve the quantity and quality of heat treatment plates. To ensure the function stability and control accuracy of the burning control system is very important. So Baosteel Heavy Plate Mill decides to do the scientific research, which is the research and optimizing to the heat treatment furnace burning and control system in Heavy Plate Mill of Baosteel.Today the Heavy Plate Mill all over the world mostly chooses the roller furnace or the step onward girder heat treatment furnace. The heat method mainly includes the seeing fire and the burner radiation. The method of the burner radiation heating is on or off burner cycling control. The furnace uses nitrogen as the protecting gas. This technology is the developing direction of the heat treatment furnace in the future. Compared with the seeing burning technology, the burner radiation heating technology has some advantages. For example, the temperature control accuracy inside the heat treatment furnace and the stability of the devices running are higher. The wastage of gaseous fuel is much lower. The quality of the heat treatment production is higher. Baosteel Heavy Plate Mill firstly uses the burner radiation heating technology in China. Wuyang Heavy Plate Mill and Pugang Heavy Plate Mill use the seeing burning control technology. The burner radiation heating technology for the heat treatment furnace was introduced to China for a very short time. So the research for the burner radiation hearting technology is very few.The heat treatment furnace of Heavy Plate Mill in Baosteel uses firstly the radiation hearting technology. There is no experience for the technology before this time. The heat treatment plate is the important production in Baosteel Heavy Plate Mill. So the burning control system of the heart treatment furnace has to be researched as soon as possible. And the heat treatment core technology must be held. So the level to use the device can be higher. Consequently the quantity and quality of the heart treatment productions are improved.This article researches the burning control system of the heat treatment furnace in Baosteel Heavy Plate Mill. The contents include measuring and controlling the temperature inside the furnace, cycle control for the burning system, control for the oxygen content in the furnace, the furnace pressure control, the pressure control of the assistant burning air, the sequence control during ignition and flameout. The research unties the core control technology of the burning control system of the heat treatment furnace. The control method to nitrogen inside the furnace and the control function of burner cycle pulse burning are optimized. The nitrogen inside the furnace is controlled automatically. The nitrogen quantity is used fewer. The aim to save gaseous fuel comes true.
