In recent years, calixarene has been known gradually. Its excellent performance and enormous potential of adhibition have been discovered and confirmed. As a member of calixarene family, wholly substitued resorcincalix[4]arene has been well developed. Ion recognition, adhibition of nano-material and synthesis of novel calixarene by fragment coupling have became hot spots. In this paper, we conventionally synthesis a series of wholly substitued resorcincalix[4]arene derivatives modified by functional side chains, and carried out a series of characterization. By researching in coordination chemistry, nano-materials, control of reaction conditions and other aspects of research, we gained some meaningful results:1. By side chain modification (e.g. esterification, hydrazinolysis, aminolysis, etc.) of octmethoxyresorcincalix[4]arene, we synthesis the ether-ester derivatives, acyloxy hydrazine/amide derivatives, hydrazone derivatives, Schiff base derivatives and carried out a series of characterization (IR, NMR, X-diffraction). We also researched Schiff base derivatives in ion-recognition, discovering that Schiff base have a certain recognition of common metal ions, among which Cu2+is most significant, and confirmed by its crystal structure. In this chapter, we synthesis36compounds.3of them and a metal complex have been determined by single crystal structure.2. Using the amino group-containing amphiphilic type calix[4]arene as protective agent, we prepared gold particles which can be stably exist, and conducted a series of filters to its preparation conditions. The complexes were characterized by transmission electron microscopy FIG UV absorption spectra. The gold nano particles we obtained showed good catalytic performance in the process of reduction of nitro groups. In addition, we have found, in aqueous solution, such amphiphilic calix[4]arene has a certain assembly performance through a combination of assembly and nano particles, which is expected to achieve better development in the field of catalytic.3. Through improvements of synthetic methods, were prepared tetramethoxysilane resorcincalix[4]arene, based on which, we synthesis a new calixarene, and carried out a series of characterization (IR, NMR, X-diffraction). In this chapter, we synthesized8different resorcincalix [4] arene matrix, and3of them have been determined by the crystal structure.
