Wear is one of the major failure reasons of machine parts, in order to reduce the failure ofparts and prevent safety accidents, people will try to improve the mechanical properties andphysical properties, and the performance and lifetime of components. Traditional approach is toimprove the hardness of parts, or use lubricating oil, grease. However, these methods are notgeneric under some special conditions, such as high temperature, high pressure and high vacuum.At this point, solid lubricant is an effective way.In this article, the low-temperature electrolytic sulphurizing was used to gain the FeS solidlubrication film on the20CrMnTi steel surface. Study on the salt-bath composition, and theeffects to low temperature electrolytic sulphurizing; The experiment of low-temperatureelectrolytic sulphurizing was done according orthogonal experimental design, and obtain the bestparameters. The tribological properties was investigated with M-2000wear-test machine; Testedthe micromorphology, chemical composition, phase, galling morphology and element types bythe microscropy SEM and XRD.Results showed that FeS is good at abrasion-resistance both with sulfide film or not.Friction pair can be separated effectively by sulfide layer, FeS can betransfered to the duallaminated surface or filled to the defect of the substrate, and it can be moved or diffuse to thesubstrate surface under high temperatures, reducing wear constinuously.This study provides theoretical and experimental basis for industrial mass production, theapplication prospects is glorious.
