As an important acoustic characteristics of the marine environment, ocean ambient noisecontains a wealth of ocean information. Based on the submersible buoy, this paper uses vectorhydrophone to pick up the acoustic pressure signal and the particle velocity information,collecting the submersible buoy auxiliary information synchronously, and uses theself-contained structure to store the information. So the ocean ambient noise can be stored inreal time.The design concept which is mainly reflected in this paper is the self-contained memoryunit in the acoustic submersible buoy. The paper elaborates how to use the system to collectocean ambient noise specifically. Firstly, designed the hardware of the system according to thespecific acquisition targets, including the design of how to process the quad analog signalcollected by the vector hydrophone at the front end, design of how to process the noise databy the digital acquisition board and design of storing submersible buoy posture, environmentinformation (depth, temperature) and noise data in the CF card. All these designs above are inorder to ensure the software design proceed smoothly, thereby protecting the system to workproperly, such as the data acquisition software design of the noise data, compass and pressuresensor. Among the system, the most important software design is the stored mode of the datacollected. In order to manage the data collected easily, the system uses the FAT32file system.After the design of system hardware and software are completed, the acquisition system istested practically in several respects in the laboratory. The test results show that everyelectrical unit of the system can work properly. Finally, select appropriate sea area for seatrials test according to the system tested requirements. Obtain the conditions of the ambientnoise by the analysis of the test data. The successful result of the experiment shows that theacoustic submersible buoy system with self-contained memory unit meets the designrequirements, and can be applied to the practical work.
