Fluorite is an important raw material of fluorite chemical industry. With the easy-separating fluorite resources running out, the hard-separating fluorite resources attract more and more attention. The flotability of fluorite and calcite is similar, for both have a calcium. Therefore, the flotation separation between fluorite and calcite is a problem of flotation recycling for fluorite resources. This paper studys a fluorite resource associated by batch flotation experiments, micro flotation experiments, the adsorption experiments of sodium oleate and sodium silicate and solution chemical calculation, and studys the technological process, flotation reagent system and mechanism of the inhibitor. The main research results are as follows:The micro flotation experiments of the effect of pH on flotability and the inhibition of sodium silicate show that both fluorite and calcite have good flotability with slurry pH>8, and that fluorite has better flotability than calcite with slurry pH=7.0-7.5, for calcite is strongly inhibited by sodium silicate while fluorite is not.The adsorption experiments of sodium oleate and sodium silicate show that, the different adsorption quantity of sodium silicate, of which Si(OH)4is the main constituent with the slurry pH=7.0~7.5, results in the effective separation of fluorite and calcite. The adsorption quantity of sodium oleate decreases resulting from the adsorption of sodium silicate on both fluorite and calcite. The differences of flotability increases, for the adsorption quantity of sodium oleate on fluorite is more than that on calcite and the adsorption quantity of sodium silicate on fluorite is less than that on calcite. The batch experiments of roughing, structure process and the process of closed-circuit flotation for fluorite ore show that fluorite and calcite can be effectively separated when the slurry pH of all operations is7.0-7.5with sodium oleate as the collector, sodium silicate as the inhibitor and dilute sulphuric acid as pH modifier. When the crude ore contains CaF234.32%、CaCO313.56%, we can obtain the fluorite concentrate containing fluorite94.44%with the recovery of89.35%using the process of closed-circuit flotation with a roughing and nine cleaning.28figures,14tables and58references are included.
