As machine tools develop in the direction of high speed and high precision, the machine tools performance is more and more highly emphasized, how to improve the dynamic characteristics of machine tools by improving their design is a crucial problem.Have dynamic analysis of gantry machining center structure by using the finite element analysis software in this paper, conclude the weak links of this machine tool and revise the structure of weak part. The purpose of doing above is to achieve the optimization on dynamic characteristics of gantry machining center and improve its dynamic performance,. In this paper, the main content is as follows:(1) Introduce the finite element analysis method of dynamic characteristics analysis of machine tools, summarize the development of machine design at home and abroad and analyze the research situation of dynamic optimization method of machine tool structure.(2) Establish three-dimensional entity model of the gantry machining center, simulate the guide joint surface by using the spring damping unit, etc, thus the finite element model of whole gantry machining center structure is established, which laid a foundation for the analysis of the gantry machining center.(3) Have modal analysis of gantry machining center structure based on structural dynamic analysis theory of finite element method, by using Ansys Workbench, the dynamic characteristics of gantry machining center machine is obtained including the modal frequencies and mode shapes, thus acquire weak links influencing the dynamic performance of gantry machining center.(4) Z to the linear rolling guide is known as the weak link structure according to the modal analysis results on gantry machining center, put forward three different improvement schemes about Z to the linear rolling guide, have modal analysis of the improved gantry machining center by ANSYS Workbench respectively, compare the results of different analysis with each other, select the most appropriate improvement scheme of this structure, so dynamic performance of the gantry machining center is greatly improved.
