The main purpose of high-efficiency grinding is to improve production efficiency, reduce cost and machining quality, its application will produce huge economic and social benefits. Face grinding with bowl-shaped CBN wheel is a new kind of high efficient deep grinding method, based on the study of high speed and high efficient grinding technology in domestic and abroad, This paper proposed and solved key problems of deep grinding machines, which are grinding spindle system and grinding carriage slideway, realized optimization design of them through theoretical calculation, modeling simulation analysis and modal test method. The main work includes:(1) Based on the study of face grinding with bowl-shaped CBN wheel, it has systematically studied spindle parameters, analyzed the advantages and disadvantages of bearings, designed and produced the spindle system.(2) Static characteristics and impact factors of spindle unit are analyzed by theoretical calculation and modeling simulation analysis, verify the rationality of spindle structure and parameters.(3) Based on the theory of modal analysis, modal test of the grinding wheel spindle system have been performed by hammering method, first six order modal parameters are obtained and analyzed. Results show that the grinding system meet the requirements of the deep grinding test.(4) The vibration of the grinding spindle system has been tested. And the relationship between the speed and the vibration has been analyzed.(5) Design a pasting guide rail according to the test requirement. By measuring the repositioning precision of grinding carriage, the pasting guide rail meet the requirement of feeding sensitivity.Finally, the grinding test platform has been built, and some experiments have been done to study the deep grinding.
