The moisture content of sinter mixture is very important in sintering production process. The moisture fluctuation can not only affect the quality and quantity of agglomerate, but also affect the working life of the instrument. The moisture detection of sinter mixture is always a difficulty. This paper has include the following two aspects:the study of fast neutron detecting technology applied in blet conveyor system, the design of site moisture automation control system.This paper is mainly about the study and analysis of the measuring principle and method of slow neutron moisture meter. Aiming at the difficulty of slow neutron moisture meter can’t be applied on the belt conveyor system, this paper has proposed an neutron-γ union method based on the current neutron moisture detection instrument, it also added the density compensation technology for material thickness. This technology can fully solve the material thickness changing problem and fully adapt to the complex belt situation. First, built the mathematic model of fast neutron measurement, and design the suitable detecting device through the theoretical analysis and research of the interaction between ray and matter. Then,applied the moisture meter in the sinter, by on-site proving, its measuring accuracy can reach±0.3%(1δ), it can meet the on-line detecting requirement of moisture in sinter mixture.The purpose of sintering moisture detection is to master and control the moisture of sinter mixture, and make it to reach the optimum moisture content in sintering process. Through researching, and choosing the suitable instrument, it has completed the design of the hardware, based on which it finished the design of software, PLC control program, and the design of the combining between PLC and monitoring system. After finishing the programming work of moisture control system, this system has been applied in the real working situation. It proves that the operating of the fast neutron automation control system is quite statable, the product quantity can improve to29t, the drum index is also be improved o.48higher.
