Related to the strategic position of national development, the CNC machine tools is an important foundation to achieve the advanced manufacturing technology. As a new technology, micro machining technology can be used in a variety of materials machining and obtain ultra-high precision parts, so it attracts more and more international attention in academia and industry. A machine tool was designed by Advanced Manufacturing Center in Donghua Univercity, which using high precision micro-grinding technology to make key parts of high-performance micro-inertial navigation. Focus on the designing of electrical control, CNC programming software modules design, spindle thermal analysis and spindle control modules design of the micro-nano grinder, research work was carried out. Based on the research and analysis of the electrical control design, the process of spindle thermal analysis and spindle control software design was described in detail. As the center of the micro-nano grinder, the CNC system harmonized the spindle control system, feeding servo system and auxiliary equipments of the grinder to work coordinately. The main contents include:(1) According to the general requirements design of the micro-nano grinder, the overall planning of the micro-nano grinder NC system was finished. Based on the analysis of the micro-nano grinder structures and working processes, aiming at the design of the overall hardware structure, the drive and control design of the feeding servo and spindle of the grinder was determined.(2) Based on the overall scheme of the micro-nano grinder NC system, the electrical control system configuration was determined and the each components of the grinder was analysed and selected.(3) Based on the needs analysis of the micro-nano grinder CNC system software,the modules, interfaces and constraints of the micro-nano grinder software were planned.(4) The spindle modeling and thermal analysis was completed, based on the different conditions and the monitoring methods of the temperature condition systematically, got the cooling effect of the spindle, and analyzed the factors affecting the spindle heat generating and cooling effect systematically.(5) The communication connection between PC and frequency converter and thermostat was founded, the software of spindle control and monitoring module was developed to realize the operational control and temperature status monitoring of the spindle.
