| Methanol is an important basic chemical raw material which can be produced fromcoal gas and coke-oven gas. In recent years with the development of coal chemicalengineering in China, the production of methanol increases rapidly. To reduce theproduction cost of methanol production, decreased material and energy requirement in theproduction process of methanol become hot problems.For10000tons of methanol plant of Dingzhou Tianlu Energy Co. Ltd., coke-oven gasis used as raw material, an advanced three tower rectification process, a synthetic gascompressor of multi-uses, and a fixed bed catalytic reactor of tubular structure for thesynthesis of methanol are used in the process.An energy consumption analysis in methanol production process was made. Based onthermodynamic calculation, a new idea is proposed. Carbon dioxide before the steamconversion of methane was added to the process. And water in the process gas from theconverter was removed by a flash operation in flash drum. A dual effect of energy-savingand water-saving was realized. Ratio of hydrogen to carbon was set an objective function,and addition of CO2and medium-pressure steam amount was optimized. Simulationresults indicate that the process exhibits considerable effect of energy-saving anddecreased water consumption. |
