Through remote data collection and on-site investigations, this article has obtained production data of coal-to-semicokes enterprise and coal-to-olefins enterprise, been familiar with the production processes, collected equipment operating parameters and utilization of residual energy resources;According to GB/29995-2013 and GB/30180-2013,analyzed the energy consumption status of enterprises and energy saving potential from the perspectives of production process and equipment; From the perspective of energy recovery, the remaining energy, remaining energy density, grade and other attributes of the residual energy are analyzed, the ―Available energy‖ and ―Available energy levels‖ are used to quantitatively evaluate the level of the residual energy.energy saving potential has been calculated.Through calculations and analysis,it is found that the current production level of the coal-to-semicokes enterprise has not yet reached the national advanced level, theoretically there is still an energy saving potential of about 9 thousand tce.In fact, the analysis shows that there are still about 19.6 thousand tce can been saved. After the energy-saving,coal-to-semicokes enterprises will reach the national advanced level;the current production level of coal-to-olefins is better then the national advanced level, theoretically no energy-saving potential, but in fact the analysis shows that there are still about 92.4 thousand tce can be saved, the production level of olefins after energy saving will far exceed the national advanced level.Coal-to-semicokes and coal-to-olefins are all different in terms of production process, properties, production levels and standards. The results of benchmarking and assessment of remaining energy resources has tested and verified the applicability of "industrial residual-energy utilization evaluation method" in coal chemical industry.
