Cold strip production line in ANSTEEL is a modern production line. One of its procedures is the Pickling Line with Tandem Cold Mill.In this PLTCM, we use the laser welding machine to make two different coils together, in order to mill the strips continuously. One of the most important part of this plant is the positioning system of the clamping device of the Miebach laser welding machine.The clamping device of the Miebach laser welding machine is a typical positioning system of hydraulic system. It is wildly used in heavy industry. At plant No.2and plant No.3in cold strip works of ANSTEEL, quite often we found the mistakes in this system。It makes the production not running smoothly. This thesis mainly discusses and researches about the positioning system of the clamping device of the Miebach laser welding machine. After that, we use the tools of Matlab software to simulate the real system.Through different experiments, we find the model of the system can truly describe the real working procedures of the clamping device. It makes great sense for the operators to adjust the parameters of the production control.
