The roadheader is an important equipment for roadway excavation. With theimprovement of mining craft, the requirement of their work performance is higher andhigher, the traditional design method owns the high cost, the long cycle and lacks ofcompetitiveness. The virtual prototype technology develops rapidly in recent years, itprovides a new approach to design and research the roadheader. It takes the EBZ75boom-type roadheader of a coal company as an engineeringobject, constructs the three-dimensionnal model with PRO/E, carries on simulatedassemble and interfere examination, then establishs the rigid system in ADAMS throughthe interface software of MECH/PRO, generates the MNF of the key parts in ANSYS,after that the rigid-flexible coupled model is created. Later the slewing hydraulic systemof roadheader is builded based on EASY5. At last the ADAMS and EASY5two-partmodel is common to construct the mechanical-hydraulic co-simulation platform, andoperate the mechanical and hydraulic system co-simulation.According to the analysisresult, finds out the weak component of the mechanical system and optimize it, andverify the reliability of the hydraulic system. The practice shows that it is feasible to usevirtual prototyping co-simulation technology in the study of roadheader, and thesimulation results are accurate and reliable. The study method and analysis results offer reference for the design of roadheader, which have guidance for the engineering practice. In addition, the co-simulationtechnology can also be used in other mechanical-electrical products, in order to shortenthe design cycle, cut down the research costs, and enhance the performance of theproduct.
