Inhalable Particulates is a kind of Particulates that could inter the body through respiratory function. Inhalable Particulates in Ambient Atmosphere in ChangChun city come from road dust, the city’s comprehensive dust, soil dust, construction dust, industrial coal-fired dust and the motor vehicle exhaust dust. Source Apportionment is a work that trace the origin of particulates, and quantitative the proportion of each dust source. In recent years, the source apportionment become an important tool of air pollution management. In this thesis, the recent research on Source Apportionment was reviewed, Source Apportionment was employed to found the origin of particulates in ChangChun city. The main works of the thesis are listed as follow:1. This research investigated the overall level of air quality in Changchun City. The results show that the air quality in Changchun City is deteriouating year by year. The city’s air pollution originates from particulate matter.2. This research monitored the particulates in different area of ChangChun city. The monitoring results show that, compared with the old area, the air quality of the new area are much better, cause the low concentration of PM10.3. This research analyzed the inorganic component of the dust source and receptor through the ICP. And, we analyzed the organic component of the dust source and receptor through the Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry. From the component spectrum we can tell the Symbolic elements of each dust. These symbolic elements have different distribution cause of different pollutions.4. The chemical mass balance method was used for the source apportionment of inhalable particles in ambient atmosphere of different area in ChangChun city. The results of the study show that, the order of top three sources causing PM10from strong to weak during non-heating season in old area of ChangChun City is:the city’s comprehensive dust, coal-fired dust, soil dust. The order of top three sources during non-heating season in new area is:the city’s comprehensive dust, motor vehicle exhaust dust, soil dust. The results of source apportionment during heating season:to old area, the top three is coal-fired dust, the city’s comprehensive dust, road dust. To new area, the top three is coal-fired dust, the city’s comprehensive dust, motor vehicle exhaust dust.
