In this dissertation, a series of bent organic ligands bridged by1,3,4-oxadiazoleand carbazole heterocyle with pyridyl group as the terminal coordination site havebeen designed and synthesized. The coordination chemistry based on these newligands and inorganic metal ions was investigated. Totally17new coordinationcompounds were prepared and fully characterized by infrared spectroscopy,1H NMRspectroscopy, elemental analysis, single-crystal X-ray diffraction and powder X-raydiffraction. The physical and chemical properties, such as luminescent properties, molecular adsorption and separation properties, and thermal stability and so on, wereinvestigated.I.2-D Cd(II)-MOF [Cd(L1)2(SO3CF3)2]·2THF with cavity structure (dimensionsof~10.5×4.0) generated from ligand L1bridged by1,3,4-oxadiazoleheterocycle and Cd(SO3CF3)2was prepared by solution reaction. It can retain thestability of framework up to300C. The host-guest chemistry property of thecoordination compound was investigated. The results indicate that it can functionas a host framework for the reversible encapsulation of benzene and itsmethyl-substituted derivatives (toluene, o-、m-、p-xylene). More interestingly, itis capable of effectively discerning benzene-cyclohexane mixture orbenzene-toluene mixture under mild conditions. All the process wascharacterized by1H NMR and XRPD. In addition, the luminescent properties ofthe different aromatics Cd(L1)2(SO3CF3)2host-guest systems were alsoinvestigated.II. Eight coordination compounds based on1,3,4-oxadiazole-containing organicligands and inorganic Co(II)、Cd(II)、Zn(II)、Hg(II)、Cu(II) and Cu(I) weresynthesized and characterized by IR,1H NMR and single-crystal X-raydiffraction. Moreover, the thermal stabilities and luminescent properties of partof these compounds were also discussed in this chapter.III. A series of bent organic ligands bridged by carbazole heterocycle with pyridylgroup as the terminal coordination site were designed and synthesized. And nine novel coordination complexes based on them and inorganic Cd(II) salts wereobtained by solution reactions. The results demonstrated that the configuration ofthe ligands and anion significantly influenced the structures of the resultedcompounds.Research results reveal that bipyridine-type organic ligands, which weredesigned and synthesized in this thesis, are good templates to build coordinationcomplexes with elegant structures and excellent feaures when coordinating withtransition metals. This in fact provides an efficient way for designing and synthesizingfunctional organic-inorganic hybrid materials for molecular adsorption and separation, and luminescence.
