The nonlinear optical properties crystal materials with metal ions have been synthesizedbased on asymmetric1,3,4-Oxadiazole organic ligands. This kind of crystal material is oneof the most advanced and active research field of chemistry. In recent years, many chemists ofresearch groups have designed and synthesized the material, and investigated the luminescentand separation properties. In this thesis, a series of rigid asymmetric ligands with the1,3,4-oxadiazole and semi-rigid benzimidazole derivatives have been synthesized. The coordinationchemistry based on these new rigid and semi-rigid ligands and metal ions was investigated.Totally,22new coordination compounds were synthesized and characterized by elementalanalysis, IR,1H NMR and X-ray single-crystal diffraction. The TGA properties and luminescentof the coordination compounds were investigated.I. Fifteen coordination compounds generated from the quinolyl1,3,4-oxadiazole and Cu(I),Zn(II), Ag(I), Cu(II) and Cd(II) have been synthesized. The Fifteen coordination compoundshave novel topological structures. The coordination behavior and weak interaction of the newcompound, which could influence the structures was investigated. The luminescent propertiesof compound4,5,6,8,9,10,14and15were investigated in the solid state. The TGAproperties of some coordination compounds were investigated, too.II. One coordination compound generated from the quinolyl benzimidazole and Cu(I) have beensynthesized. The coordination fashions of the rigid ligand could influence the structures of thenovel compound significantly. The luminescent properties of compound16was investigated inthe solid state.III. Six coordination compounds generated from the quinolyl benzimidazole and Ag(I), Co(II),and Cu(II) have been synthesized. The six coordination compounds have novel topologicalstructures. The coordination behavior and weak interaction of the new compound, which couldinfluence the structures was investigated. The luminescent properties of compound17and18were investigated in the solid state. The TGA properties of some coordination compounds wereinvestigated, too.The quinolyl1,3,4-Oxadiazole rigid ligands and benzimidazole derivative semi-rigidligands have been synthesized. The coordination chemistry based on these new rigid and semi-rigid ligands and metal ions was investigated. The novel compounds have interestingphysical and luminescent properties.
