Currently the problem of food hygiene and safety is becoming more and more serious,therefore food safety detection has become particularly important. Traditionally, the number ofbacteria or microorganism was counted by using the method of culturing medium. But thismethod has some limitations, such as long culture period, and the bacteria culture needprofessional technical operations. Rapid detection method has solved the problem of timeconstraints, the results can be obtained within several minutes, thereby, we can make theanalysis of the pollution status in a timely manner.A kind of bacteria detection instrument based on ATP bioluminescence technique isintroduced in this paper, which can detect the number of bacteria rapidly. The instrument hasthe advantages of short measurement period, high efficiency, high precision and easyoperation. Any biological need ATP to provide energy. After adding some reagent, ATP willrelease the fluorescence. The amounts of ATP contained in various bacteria are substantiallythe same, namely, the number of microorganisms contained in the sample is correlated withATP contained linearly.This article describes ATP bioluminescence technology and the product developmentprocess, the analysis of the domestic and international trends and existing products, as well asthe main content of the study design. The article overall describes the part of the completedetection system, as well as some of the design ideas. In order to improve the accuracy ofdetection, the instrument use a high sensitivity photomultiplier tube (PMT) as the acquisitionoptical signal acquisition device that overall under sealed conditions. PMT voltage signal isfed to the enlargement processing, and then, the output is sent to the AD conversion, and thefinal results are shown on the LCD12864.Current products on the market are also more interesting focus on this regard to improve thedetection accuracy, the product based on the current ATP detection technology is still relatively need high technical requirements, along with the development of science and technology, theATP bioluminescence-based products will be used widely, and easy to operate, the cost ofapplication will be reduced, and the products based on current burgeoning detection methodwill beyond the laboratory. In the future, the detection of bacterial and microbialcontamination will become an ordinary part of everyday life, which can really solve the healthsecurity issues.
