Tire is one of the main components of the car, which is like the bridge that makes the automobile and the road surface connected, and equivalent to the legs of the car. Car tire, as an important part of the automobile, its main functions are carrying the load of the car, and passing driving force, steering force and braking force issued by the car, Buffering and cushioning when driving on the bumpy road or at a high speed, ensuring the safety and comfort of the car running. The quality of the car tire affects car’s driving speed and security directly. It has a very important theoretical and practical significance to study the safety of the tire performance.This paper found out the factors that affecting the safety of the tire, and how every aspect can lead the tire to the failure by summarizing the existing research. Tire failure analysis and summary are systematic. It also contains the following:a detailed analysis of the tread wear of the rubber and the fatigue failure of the rubber material; factors which affect the safety performance of the rubber, just like the heat generated by the tire during the travel, the scratch and tear of tires, the long-term corrosion of the tire, and the pressure is correct or not, etc.In this paper, I used AUTOCAD and SOLIDWORKS to create and modify a cross-sectional view and three-dimensional perspective view of11.0R20tire with different tire tread wear, and imported them into the ANSYS WORKBENCH to have finite element analysis. In this paper, I used Moony-Rivlin model to simulate the rubber material. The finite element models of this paper fully considered the geometric nonlinearity caused by large deformation of the tire, material nonlinearity of rubber materials and contact nonlinearity. I had finite element analysis with rubber radial tires under static inflatable conditions and ground conditions caused by vertical load. I found the variation law of deformation and stress-strain under these conditions and with the different tire tread wear. I analyzed the influence of the inflation pressure and the vertical load on the tire performance, and the variation of the tire with the pressure and vertical load.In this paper, I used the theory of finite element analysis to analyze and reach the mechanical properties of the tire. I found out tire’s dangerous parts under inflation and touching ground conditions. I analyzed the influence of tire tread wear on the tire safety performance. This paper laid a foundation for the further study of tire safety performance.
