Tire touches ground directly through the tread.The wear resistance,grip of tread rubber directly affects the tire life and safety.Therefore,it's very popular to study the tire tread rubber friction,wear characteristics.This paper focuses on tire tread rubber friction and wear characteristics in three different dimensions.Firstly,abrasion test was put in to effect to study the wear resistance of tread rubber.The effects of different speed,load,angle and temperature on the friction and abrasion characteristics of tread rubber were systematically studied by using VMI LAT100 multifunctional testing machine.The results show the change pattern of tread abrasion property when these factors changing.The empirical formula of wear rate is established to lay the foundation for tire tread wear performance study.The results show that the wear of tread rubber increases with the increase of velocity and angle.The wear of the tire rubber material and the sample travel speed and the energy dissipation in the process satisfy the quadratic equation.As the load applied to the sample increases,the wear amount of the tread rubber increases,meanwhile the surface temperature of the tread rubber sample increases abruptly.The friction force increases with the increase of the load;the friction coefficient decreases with the increase of the load.What's more the friction coefficient and the load satisfy the power function equation.With the increase of temperature,the wear of tread rubber increased significantly.When the temperature reached 60 ?,the wear amount of tread rubber gradually stabilized with the increase of temperature.Secondly,different rubber formula was studied.The rubber material and filler as the main matrix in the tread rubber composite directly impact on the tread wear and the handling of vehicles.The effects of natural rubber,butadiene rubber,styrene-butadiene rubber and different carbon black varieties on the friction and abrasion characteristics of tread rubber were studied.The abrasion characteristics of three kinds of rubber under different road conditions are revealed.And,the wear resistance change pattern of tire with different specific surface area carbon black on different road condition are revealed.The results show that the carbon black with high specific surface area and low structure is more suitable for the anti-cutting tread in mine and multi-gravel road,and then improve the anti-collapse performance of the tread.High specific surface area,high structural carbon black is more suitable for the winding road and urban transit tread with lots of emergency braking and turning.To improve the wear resistance of vulcanizates,the use of high structural carbon black is more effective than increasing the specific surface area of carbon black,especially under serious conditions.Butadiene rubber has the best wear resistance,especially in harsh road conditions.Under normal road conditions,SBR abrasion resistance is slightly lower than natural rubber.The wear resistance of styrene-butadiene rubber is better than that of NR under the mining road condition.Lastly,based on the finite element method,the simulation model of tread is established.Based on the result of the uniaxial tension test and compression test,tread rubber constitutive model was established.Based on the test and simulation results,a prediction model of rubber tire wear is established.
