There are many advantages of heavy load, stable, reliable, low noiseand so on of spiral bevel gear, so it widely used in various industries,especially the key components of national defense, traffic and precisionmachine tool industry, and are increasingly high demands on its quality.Gear grinding is to improve the accuracy, surface roughness of gear toothand an important means of eliminating gear thermal deformation. In thispaper, according to the forming mechanism of grinding surface profile ofspiral bevel gear, the tooth surface morphology of grinding was modeledand analyzed, and the main research contents are as follows:Study on NC grinding tooth surface topography modeling of spiralbevel gear. Based on spiral bevel gear NC grinding mechanism,morphology of grinding wheel, as well as the theoretical tooth surfaceanalysis, establish the grinding wheel model of which particles randomlydistributed and the theoretical tooth surface model by using the softwareof Matlab, and then according to the relative motion between the grindingwheel and the workpiece, grinding parameters and abrasive interferencein grinding process, the grinding tooth surface topography simulationmodel of spiral bevel gear was established, and formation rule andinfluencing factors of grinding tooth morphology were researched.Through comparative analysis of simulation morphology andexperimental morphology, and calculation of simulation morphologyroughness, accuracy of the tooth surface topography simulation modelwas verified.Study on NC grinding tooth face roughness modeling of Spiral bevelgear. Through the analysis of the formation mechanism of grinding toothface roughness profile of spiral bevel gear, the grinding wheel topographyand particle trajectories, and with spiral bevel gear which ground by sixaxis five linkage NC grinding machine as the research object, the modelof grinding tooth surface roughness along the grinding direction andvertical to the grinding direction of spiral bevel gear were established according to the position and relative motion between the grinding wheeland the workpiece of gear on the machine tool. M files were compiledand run by the software of Matlab, and then we can get the predictedvalues of grinding tooth surface roughness of spiral bevel, the maximumerror of the results of prediction and the measured values of grindingtooth face roughness of spiral bevel gear is only13.4%, and show that theroughness of the model is accurate and reasonable.Experiments research on surface roughness and surface morphologyof grinding of spiral bevel gear. Experiments were conducted to study theroughness and morphology of grinding tooth surface of spiral bevel gearrespectively by the profile and roughness measuring instrument anddigital three-dimensional video microscopy. The values of grinding toothsurface roughness and the images of tooth surface morphology of spiralbevel gear under different processing parameters were obtained.Compared with the model results, experimental studies well validate theaccuracy and precision of the model built in this paper.
