Study On DNC Architecture

With the progress of Numerical Control (NC) technology, more and more NCEquipments are used in manufacturing plants, and the development of Distributed NumericalControl (DNC) is still on the way. There are still problems to solve in DNC, such as therestricted communication distance between NC machines and DNC host, synchronousmachining control of multiple NCs, and the inconvenient operation of the system.In this thesis, the transmission of NC program, the synchronous control ofmultiple-machines, the architecture of a DNC system and the reliability of data transmissionDNC servers were discussed, and a DNC system based on serial server was developed. In theDNC system developed, the NC machines communicate to the DNC server by a serial serverdevice via a TCP/IP LAN. The NC machines send NC programs with predefined instructionsto the DNC host, the host analyses the NC program and executes the instructions, and thefunction of remote call could be realized. Synchronous control of the communication isaccomplished by a multithread program.Also in this thesis, the functions, databases and programs of the DNC system weredeveloped with Visual C#language, and an SQL Server DBMS was used for data processing.The program was designed in a3layer B/S model, and ASP.NET/ADO.NET technologywere used to create an NC resources sharing platform，data management of NC machine andnetwork issue are also accomplished.
