The Research Of Garment Pattern CAD Based On Postscript

Garment CAD (computer aid garment design) greatly improved the production efficiencyand the quality of apparel products by putting the theory and technology of CAD field intofashion design, production, management and other links. But there are still many deficiencies atcurrent situation, which has greatly improved space in compatibility, convenience, function,etc. This paper creates the garment pattern file based on PostScript with print file function andindependent of output device advantages; using the EXCEL platform to realize the data input,and using the basic command of CONCATENATE () to complete automatic calculation andautomatic generation of the pattern documents. This make it possible to quick and easy todesign garment pattern for fashion professionals(or ordinary people). At the same time, due tolower the software development difficult, this method also reduces the workload of softwaredevelopers.Content and structure of the thesisThis paper provides an overview of the technical background of clothing CAD systemin domestic and foreign, briefly introduces the background and significance of the subject,analysis of garment pattern design method. And then, take the third basic garment pattern andblouse as example, using PostScript language as drawing the underlying technology, Excel asthe input and computing platform of data, Gsview as the output shows environment of theGarment pattern CAD system. And lastly, finished garment pattern design applied two kinds ofdesign methods (prototype method and scale method) in this CAD system.This paper focuses on the special requirements of curve in the pattern:(1) How to drawthe complexity of continuous curve using the Bessel curve, such as the sleeve curve, armholecurve, and the like.(2) Calculation the length of the curve, as the use of macro function ofEXCEL, write VB code to realize the calculation of armhole arc length, collar arc length, etc.This system effectively solves the interface compatibility problem of traditional clothingCAD improved pattern output standard, the file and database operation convenient, and laidthe foundation of the garment interactive design in the future.
