Mineral resources are the basic material foundation for the survival of humanity. It is an important guarantee to the national security and economic development.The steel industry occupies an important place in the national economy and mainstream industry, which be used most important and widely in modern industry.In recent years, with the rapid development of society and economy of China, steel market demand is gradually increasing and iron ore have the same problems. However, iron-ore import faces a deal of risks due to resource control, market price mechanism and so on by foreign country.Therefore, it is an important act to soothe the contradiction between supply and demand of iron ore in China by improving degree of self-sufficiency, making full use of native iron ore and developing low grade iron mineral resources.Meishan iron mine is one of main resources of the iron ore in our country. Sublevel caving without sill pillar is used in this mine for many years. The ore out of travelling angle is remains to control rock strata movement and lead to the loss of resource. In order to increase utilization of ore resources and make intensive mining, it is a question of how to mining the marginal ore and control rock strata movement at the same time.This paper studies on how to mining the ore near the area of main shaft, and the main contents are as follows:(1) Analysis of surface collapse law of Meishan iron mine. According to collapse data information of Meishan iron mine over the years, statistics method and mathematics are used to forecast surface movement and mining the marginal ore.(2) Analysis of the necessity and feasibility on the marginal ore mining. According to physical truth of the mine, choose three mining methods of caving mining, filling mining and open stope mining and compare the technology and economy index.(3) According to the preliminary methods, the make further comparison form rock strata movement and stress distribution by using numerical simulation method. Deformation behaviour of surface was evaluated by using index of skew transform, Curvature deformation and horizontal distortion. Optimization method is put forward take into account the mine’s factual situations.
