At present mining industry of our country occurs accident frequently. Because of the particularity of mining operation conditions and low level of management informatization, safety production, people management and disaster relief are important problems of mine production. The construction of personnel positioning system will help mine for workers attendance check、daily management、disaster emergency rescue and tracking location, etc. In recent years, with the rapid development of high technology, wireless sensor network technology has been paid attention to use in mine positioning system, because of many advantages such as unified technical standard, low cost, low power consumption, strong anti-interference ability, long distance transmission and so on.The personnel positioning system based on WiFi technology was studied and designed in this paper. The main contents are as follows:(1) The basic principle of RFID, ZigBee and WiFi technology was stated. Comparative analysis was made on these three technologies which are mainly used to track moving target underground. Finally choose the WiFi technology for wireless communication platform. Safe reliability of WiFi integrated digital communication platform was analyzed.(2) Location algorithm based on wireless sensor network technology was analyzed, including Received Signal Strength Indicator, Time of Arrival, Time Difference of Arrival, and Angle of Arrival. The wireless location technology can be selected through comparative analysis. RSSI positioning mechanism based on3D model was studied. Positioning was conducted employing the methods based on fixed distance of nodes. It was suggested that the measured value of PSSI could be corrected and selected using gauss model. Finally, a new optimization method of calculation results was proposed to improve the accuracy of positioning technology.(3) The personnel positioning system was designed. The overall structure of the system was designed first. Analyzed how to improve the network reliability and keep equipment installation safety. The realization of system mainly included two parts:the design of WiFi integrated digital communication platform and personnel positioning part. Then design the hardware (base station, positioning card, and switch) and software (data acquisition, interface, control platform software, etc).(4) Apply system scheme to practical examples. WiFi integrated communications platform was arranged after detailed analysis of the actual demand of the mine. The personnel positioning system function was realized, through location algorithm and positioning at each middle segment by WiFi base stations. Integrated management and analysis software system based on3d visualization platform was established, it could match the hardware of safety hedge system and achieve the function of monitor display, personnel positioning, alarm prompt, trajectory tracking, attendance management, etc.
