As the aluminium alloy is widely used in such fields as aeronautics and astronautics, and transportation, and the manufacturing of components with high-precision, the performance requirements on the aluminium alloy have been improved increasingly. The first stage of the processing of aluminium alloy products is the casting of aluminium alloy rods, whose qualities determine the products’performance. The aluminium alloy casting machine is the major equipment of producing aluminium alloy rods. The level of the machine and the control of its processing parameters jointly determine the qualities of aluminium alloy rods. And the security of manufacturing process, the performance of products and production efficiency largely depend on the hydraulic system of the casting machine. In particular, the control of the casting speed and the performance of the inner guide type hydraulic cylinder have become the key factors of controlling the products’properties. Therefore, research on the hydraulic system of the machine and its critical components is of great importance in engineering.The main tasks accomplished in this dissertation are as follows:1. Review of the manufacturing parameters and work process of the production of the aluminium alloy rods with high-quality. According to the practical working condition of the aluminium alloy casting, some performance requirements of the casting machine related to some certain technologies are proposed.2. Considering the casting speed is the most critical parameter in the casting technology of the aluminium alloy rods with high-quality, some control plans of casting speed are discussed in the design of the hydraulic system. With the results of simulation and analysis in the AMEsim, the casting speed curve suitable for casting processing is obtained. Taking the special working condition and other control demands in the casting process into account, a secure, efficient and reliable hydraulic control system of the casting machine producing aluminium alloy rods is designed.3. The inner guide type hydraulic cylinder is the critical component of the casting machine. To break the foreign companies’technological monopoly and ensure the cylinder’s performance, its mechanical model is established. By making stability analysis and kinematics analysis of low speed creeping, its characteristic equation of movement is obtained. Thus, the structure of the inner guide type hydraulic cylinder is optimized. According to the practical working condition of the aluminium alloy casting, the force testing is done in COMOSWorks of SolidWorks.4. After applying the newly designed hydraulic system into the transformation project of the aluminium alloy rod casting machine, the results shows that the system can meet the requirements of the casting performance of aluminium alloy and produce aluminium alloy rods with high-quality.
