| The wedding dress is one of the important categories of traditional dress. Withmuch attention being paid on the wedding dress, its position in the clothing industryand market are gradually improved. Chinese wedding dress market is huge, but thecurrent traditional wedding dress styles are old and single. On the other hand, thewestern style wedding dress is lack of Chinese traditional culture which is not suitablefor the oriental people. Thus, supply and demand contradictory is prominent. In viewof the actual demand, by reviewing of literatures, surveying and mapping thecollection, this paper deeply investigated the culture, changes of Chinese traditionalwedding dresses and characteristics of shape and structure. Furthermore, weinvestigate the consumer phycology by questionnaire, which provides some drawlessons with reference for the traditional wedding dress design research.Firstly, the paper studied the culture deposits of traditional wedding dress andcivilization wedding dress in detail, which indicated the internal requirement of socialchanges, western culture invading, media publicizing and celebrity endorsements arethe implicit reasons which caused the rheology of traditional wedding dress. Andthese three factors were integrated and influence each other. Secondly, the paperstudied the difference of shape, cutting, sewing process, and decorative methodsbetween the traditional wedding dress and the modern wedding dress. Based on theabove research, the paper carried out the innovation research and analysis. Inaccording with the results, the paper accomplished the innovation design of traditionalwedding dress.The opuses won golden medal in2013China wedding dress design competition,which approved the great theoretical significance and practical importance of thispaper. |
