Two point incremental forming technology is advanced for sheet metal forming. This technology has the characteristics of the programming control and flexible manufacturing. Compared with the traditional sheet metal forming technology, the special and expensive mould is not needed, so two point incremental forming technology can effectively shorten the product development cycle.Now the research on Single Point Incremental Forming is more than two point incremental forming, and Two point incremental forming, technology has just started.The purpose of this study is to explore the advantage about the forming accuracy of two point incremental forming compared with single point incremental forming and the different tool path’s influence on the forming accuracy of two point incremental forming. Main work and achievements are as follows:(1) Based on the structure of sheet metal incremental forming, stress and strain analysis of local plastic deformation area and the forming features, the principle of sheet metal incremental forming technology was studied.(2) An incremental forming equipment was studied in detail from the mechanical structure and the control system, based on the principle and basic structure of sheet metal incremental forming technology. Then, this equipment can be used to manufacture.(3) Incremental forming technology was studied. Not only two point incremental forming technology, single point incremental forming technology was also mentioned. On the basis of a target part, two kinds of incremental forming technology were determined, including the feeding and the tool path. Two kinds of tool path of two point incremental forming were studied, they were used to study the toos path’s influence on the forming accuracy. Finally, the parts were maded by the incremental forming equipment.(4) First. Based on the principle of point cloud into surface, the forming parts were scanning by FARO portable three coordinates measuring instrument. Then, analysis of measured data can draw the following conclusions:If the other process parameters are the same, the forming accuracy of two point incremental forming will be obviously higher than single point incremental forming; Different kinds of tool path will significantly affect the forming accuracy of two point incremental forming and the tool path’s optimization can effectively improve the forming accuracy.
